We love art and have been slowly adding pieces to the Barn Loft...waiting until we find just the right thing.
Our first piece, "Foggy Lane" is a photograph by our friend Scotty Thompson. We like the vertical repeats of both the trees in the photo and the corrugation of the tin walls.
The photo by the gas stove is entitled "Palouse Winter". The soft colors and shapes in this photo almost look like a painting. This is another piece by Scotty Thompson. More images of Scotty's photography may be found here.
Our latest addition is by another talented friend, Bob Long. He calls this striking piece "Scalpels". It is actually a super close up of ice crystals that he then photo-shopped to get this color. Fun!
Thank you to all the wonderful guests who have stayed with us since we opened our Barn Loft this past August. We have enjoyed meeting and hosting everyone of you and getting to meet so many interesting people is one of the best reasons ever to be part of this business! Wishing you peace, prosperity and good health in 2012!
Thanks to everyone who attended our open house last Thursday. We hosted approximately 70 people in a two hour period!
You are cordially invited to attend the Pullman Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and open house for our newest lodging endeavor, the Wesson Barn Loft www.wessonbarnloft.com. This property is adjacent to our house and to the Wesson Bunkhouse www.wessonbunkhouse.com, just one mile from downtown Pullman and two miles from the WSU campus.
Our homegrown effort evolving from our love of carving spaces into fun and functional dwellings has resulted in this new, very modern and sleek space. This unexpected, unique studio-style lodging on the second floor of our barn imparts an open, but intimate feel. The Barn Loft has a full bath with laundry facilities and a jazzy, fully furnished kitchen. The open living area sleeps four and boasts a big screen TV with all the latest electronics. The spacious deck has the best views of our property as well as the best spot to watch sunsets. We are renting this space as short-term lodging; anywhere from two nights to several weeks.
We will be serving local wine, WSU Cougar cheeses and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres. Please come and join us in celebrating the completion of this project!
